On December 27, 2025, before the commencement of the regular lodge meeting, Lodge Meenakshi No. 269 undertook a meaningful act of charity, reaffirming its commitment to inclusion and dignity in service.
The Lodge extended financial support of ₹10,000 to Mr. Manohar, a trans man and skilled artisan from Madurai. Following his transition, Mr. Manohar faced family rejection and has since been sustaining himself through irregular part-time work with a local NGO, earning less than ₹8,000 per month. He currently lives with his partner, who has no independent source of income.
Recognising his talent in creating personalised gifts and his aspiration to strengthen his livelihood, the Lodge supported him to procure raw materials and explore wider outreach through social media. This assistance aims to help him stabilise and grow his work with dignity and self-reliance.
Every Contribution Truly Matters
The contribution was mobilised through the collective support of the Brethren:
- V. W. Bro. V. Venkatasubramanian – ₹3,000
- W. Bro. Ganesh Babu – ₹2,000
- Bro. S. Nivas – ₹1,000
- W.Bro. T. Narendran – ₹2,000
- Remaining amount – from the Charity Account of Lodge Meenakshi
This initiative reflects the Lodge’s belief that charity goes beyond financial aid—it is about enabling livelihoods, affirming inclusion, and standing with individuals during critical moments of their lives.
